What Dittoable is

An online club for people who’d rather not run alone.

It’s not a feed. It’s not a fitness app. It’s a small, useful piece of digital infrastructure that turns “I’m going alone this Saturday” into “I’m going with people who get it.”

01

Built around events, not profiles.

The atomic unit is the event. Saturday 8 AM, Pink Lake, 12K, all paces. Profiles, crews, and chat exist to serve the next run, not the other way around.

02

Activity first, friendship as a side effect.

You show up because you wanted the run. You leave with a trail mate because you ran together. We don't promise community. We make showing up easy and the rest happens.

03

No swiping. No matching. No hustle.

No PR-or-die culture. No “smash your goals.” No dating energy. Just runners and hikers who agreed to meet at the trailhead at 8. And no 1:1 DMs to strangers.

How it works

Three steps. Then a Saturday.

01

See what's on this week.

Open Ottawa and you see every run and hike happening in the next seven days. Pace, distance, where they meet, who's already going.

02

Ditto one.

One tap. You're on the list. The organizer sees you're coming, you get a calendar invite, and you can chat the crew before the run if you want directions or a ride.

03

Show up. Run. Find your people.

You meet at the trailhead. You run. Someone you'd never have met says “see you Tuesday?” Three Tuesdays later that's your crew.

A note from the founder

I built this because I kept running alone.

I moved to Ottawa, found great trails, and ran most of them by myself for two years. Not because I wanted to. The loop from “I should join a run club” to actually showing up to one was three apps, two Instagram DMs, and a Saturday I’d already given up on.

Dittoable is the thing I wished existed. Ottawa first, summer 2026. If you’re in, I’d love to see you at Pink Lake.

Questions

Things people have asked.

When does Dittoable launch?
Summer 2026 in Ottawa. We'll send you the founding-member invite the week we open up, plus a few real events to ditto your first weekend in.
What does it cost?
Free. The community side of Dittoable (events, crews, profiles, chat) stays free. If we add paid coaching or guided runs later, that lives on top, opt-in. You'll never lose access to what you signed up for.
What's a 'ditto'?
It's the verb. Someone posts a Saturday run; you ditto it; you show up. No swiping, no matching, no DMs to send first. Just 'I'm in.'
Is it safe? How do you keep creeps out?
Real names and verified emails for every account. Public meet-spots only: trailheads, parks, coffee shops. Group chats around events, never 1:1 DMs to strangers. Organizers vouch for their crews and we vouch for organizers. If someone makes you uncomfortable, email hello@dittoable.com and we'll act on it.
I'm slow. Will I get dropped?
No. Every event lists its pace and whether it's a no-drop run. If it says all paces, it means all paces. If a crew's pace doesn't match yours, that's information, not a verdict.
I'm new to running. Will this be too fast for me?
No. Plenty of events are tagged beginner-friendly and a lot of our crews are no-drop by default. If your longest run is 3K and you walked half of it, that's a normal first Dittoable Saturday. Show up, see how it feels, decide if you want to come back.
Can I organize a run or hike?
Yes. And we want you to. Email hello@dittoable.com with a sentence about the crew you'd run, and we'll reach out before launch. You don't need to be a certified anything. You need a regular route, a willingness to show up, and the patience to wait for two.
Other cities?
Ottawa first. Once weekly events here feel sturdy and the city is showing up to itself, we'll open Toronto, then Montréal, then Vancouver. Want us in your city sooner? Tell us in the form.
